Trump and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week
Epstein won't go away, MAGA is cracking up, tariffs are unpopular, and Americans suddenly love immigrants
The news is happening so fast these days that it’s impossible to write about one story or another. I guess this is what happens when you elect a narcissistic reality TV show host in the throes of cognitive decline, right America?
The Epstein List That Wasn’t
Of course the big news that the entire country, and most of the world for that matter, is talking about right now is Pam Bondi’s denial last week of the existence of the Epstein client list full of elite pedophiles that she claimed she had sitting on her desk. That list that MAGA has been salivating over for years, like a dog sitting in front of a butcher’s window believing that one day, ONE DAY, the butcher would throw that dog a nice fat chewy leg bone covered in meat and dripping with blood.
To say MAGAs are disappointed would be the understatement of the year.
In fact their entire identity revolved around such a list. They had been fed lurid tales of wealthy elite Democratic politicians, donors, and voters (but only Democrats, of course) by snarling MAGA podcasters AND politicians who had built up their cred by specifically making claims that Trump was the guy who was going to blow the lid off this whole conspiracy and finally round up all those awful pedophiles and throw them in jail once and for all.
And for Bondi, Kash Patel, and Trump’s inner circle to suddenly say “Nothing to see here, move along” after making these claims for literally YEARS? Even MAGAs have their limits. Apparently. Of course Trump keeps making things worse by releasing his all-caps late night Truth screeds calling them suckers and losers for believing the lies he’d been dispensing and would they please just stop talking about it, pretty please? Oh and if you don’t stop talking about it then you’re no longer part of the cult.
That doesn’t seem to be playing well in MAGAville. Especially not with some of Trump’s most rabid supporters who are finally, FINALLY starting to realize that OMG the liberals were RIGHT after all!
I mean when you’ve lost your most rabid MAGA firebrands you know things are bad. And polling indicates that 79% of Americans, both on the left AND the right, want the government to release the Epstein list. It’s rare that the right and the left agree on anything but turns out everybody is asking “What is he hiding?”
The Trump Card
Oh, and adding fuel to the fire, the Wall Street Journal just released a story yesterday about Trump’s love of Jefferey Epstein that was so grand he sent him a racy birthday card in 2003 with the words “may every day be another wonderful secret” with a naked woman’s body drawn out and Trump’s signature below her waist.
Another “wonderful” secret? What kind of secret, pray tell?
Trump attempted to have the story killed but the WSJ was like “Nuh uh, this is way too good” and ignored him. He is now threatening to sue Rupert Murdoch and the WSJ, which is like flying over a raging forest fire in a KC-135 Stratotanker and dumping its entire load of jet fuel all over the place.
Americans Suddenly Love Immigrants
A new poll dropped this week that shows a rapid shift in attitudes towards undocumented immigrants, thanks largely to the brutal and heavy-handed tactics of Trump’s newly militarized ICEstapo. In fact, their chaotic and violent raid last week on Glasshouse Farms, a cannabis and produce production facility on the Central Coast of California, turned deadly as farm worker Jaime Alanis perished after falling 30 feet while he was trying to hide from the ICEstapo.
And Americans are clearly fed up with Trump’s unconscionable AND unconstitutional raids on migrants just trying to make a living, most of whom are complying with immigration and asylum laws and are getting scooped up at their court hearings while the Regime brands them as murderers, rapists, and hardened criminals. In fact less than 30% of those being detained by the ICEstapo even have criminal records in the first place and the vast majority are simply guilty of entering the country without papers, which is a misdemeanor.
Trump’s approval rating on immigration is now at an all-time low while Americans have suddenly shifted on immigration.
Just months after President Donald Trump returned to office amid a wave of anti-immigration sentiment, the share of U.S. adults saying immigration is a “good thing” for the country has jumped substantially — including among Republicans, according to new Gallup polling.
About 8 in 10 Americans, 79%, say immigration is “a good thing” for the country today, an increase from 64% a year ago and a high point in the nearly 25-year trend. Only about 2 in 10 U.S. adults say immigration is a bad thing right now, down from 32% last year.
That shift happened in only FIVE MONTHS, which is astounding. And it’s entirely due to Trump’s own actions. Turns out building gulags on American soil and shipping migrants off to third world hell holes where they’ll be tortured is a bridge too far for a plurality of American citizens.
Trump Polling Underwater
Speaking of polling, Trump is underwater on all other key issues besides immigration: tariffs, trade, the economy, jobs, and inflation. All issues that Trump promised to “fix” on day one because he convinced enough voters that the Biden economy was awful, even though it wasn’t.
And what does Trump do in the face of such awful number? The only thing he CAN do: lie, distract, bluster, and make fascistic threats.
Oh and now his Regime admits that he actually DOES have health problems after gaslighting the nation for years that he’s “so healthy he’ll probably live to be 200 years old”. Turns out it’s becoming impossible to hide his swollen ankles, Foley catheter, and bruised hand. No official word on his obvious cognitive decline, however.
Trump has lost his mojo. Who knows what next week will bring?
